Hi, I’m Andrew — and I believe that seeing all 50 states shouldn’t be reserved for the wealthy or the retired.
My wife and I live in rural Ohio, and like a lot of people, we spend most of our days working hard and dreaming about the places we want to go. A few years ago we made a decision: we weren’t going to wait until “someday.” We were going to start seeing this country now — on a real budget, with real constraints, and with real joy.
The Earnest Traveler is my way of documenting that journey and sharing everything I learn along the way. My goal is to visit all 50 states and show you exactly how to experience each one — whether your budget is $50 a day or $500. Free camping and roadside diners, luxury lodges and scenic railways — there’s a version of every destination for every wallet, and I’m going to find it.
When I’m not on the road, you’ll find me hiking, camping, kayaking, or planning the next trip from our little corner of Ohio. I love national parks, skiing, and the feeling of a full tank of gas and nowhere to be until Tuesday.
If that sounds like your kind of travel, grab my free 50-State Adventure Planner — it’s 21 pages packed with destination ideas, budget breakdowns, and everything you need to start planning your own epic American road trip.
